It’s been two years since we opened and our prices for developing and darkroom rentals have remained the same. In that time the cost of rent, utilities and services has increased so it’s time that we raise our prices.
Starting this weekend our new darkroom rental rates are $20 per hour, $10 per hour for students with a valid Student ID. We also rent darkrooms on non-business days at $30 per hour and ask that you give us 48 hours notice if you’d like to reserve a darkroom Monday through Thursday. Film developing will now be $10 per roll for 35mm, 120 and per sheet of 4x5 color or black and white film. Film scans will now be available in Small and Standard only for 35mm. Prices are $4 for Small and $10 for Standard. Scans for 120 film are $10 for Standard, $20 for Ultra High Resolution. Scans of 4x5 sheet film will be Ultra High Resolution only and $20 per sheet of film. All scans are jpeg only. Thank you for your support of southern New Hampshire’s center for film photography.

Every Friday is Sid's "Photo Friday" video update, and we post one of our "Photographic Truths". Please follow us on Instagram and keep up with everything that is going on at Photo Retro.  Even though we’ve reduced our business hours we are going to try off-hours darkroom rentals on a trial basis.
The darkrooms will be available to rent any day up to 7 pm with a 48-hour advance booking or reservation. For example, if you want to book the darkroom for Wednesday afternoon you must schedule it not later than the Monday before. This gives Photo Retro time to get someone into the shop and ready for you. No short-notice bookings will be available. The off-hours darkroom reservations are $25 per hour. It's a little more because it's during hours we are not open, so we must get a fellow Photo Retroist into the shop to man the space while you create your magic. To reserve private darkroom time, please email [email protected] with the subject header of "Darkroom By Appointment" so we'll know it's for after-hours rentals. People have been asking about extended hours for the darkroom, or if we can be open during the week. This is the best way for us to be available during the week for those who have asked. Remember, please book your darkroom time at least 48 hours in advance. As we approach our first anniversary in November we've gathered a year's worth of information regarding our operating hours and level of business during them. We will be open Saturday Nov. 27th and Sunday Nov. 28th from 10am - 7pm. Gift Certificates make fantastic presents to the film-lover in your home. They can go towards film or darkroom hours or classes and much more. Please consider supporting small businesses and shop local this holiday season.  Just a quick note to thank everybody who came in to the shop over our opening weekend. You bought film, you purchased classes, you rented darkroom time, you bought film holders - you came with open arms and chatted with us and told us stories about your first cameras. Thank you. We are here for you. Consider us part of your tribe. We are open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 7pm. We'll expand hours when we can. But this is a good start.
